Stop and Go

Whenever I took our children for walks, it was more of an investigative stroll, than a cardiovascular workout. I'd walk a bit and wait while they collected leaves, studied bugs, drew pictures in the dirt, or stood still to watch the sun disappear behind the clouds. Walks were always stop and go, but I enjoyed watching their enthusiasm for the most ordinary finds, or occurrences.

Now our grandchildren remind me that nothing in a day is ordinary. Each day has its own newness and I try to remember to look at things the way they do.

It is amazing what they concentrate on, isn't it? I agree, children really can concentrate w/o distracting thoughts. Lovely.
