Jupiter
This Bargue plate seems more reminiscent of King Hrothgar than Jupiter, though I may have been influenced by John Gardner's Grendel. I found the novel a bit disconcerting, but in a good way. Time to go back and read Beowulf.

Guardian
My husband and I carried on the family tradition of placing flowers on the family graves over Memorial Day weekend. My parents assumed the responsibility of decorating the graves when my grandparents could no longer do it, and now it is my brother, sister, and I who will continue with this tradition until we pass it on to the next generation.
Something my father just recently recalled in passing allowed me to find my great-grandmother's and family's grave site. If one small detail hadn't been shared, I would never have learned about a side of the family, that until now, had been lost. There is a peace knowing family walked before you, and will walk after you. My husband compared it to being a link in a long chain that goes on and on. No one person is separate of it.
This angel stands like a sentinel above my grandmother's family grave site and as we are each graced with a guardian angel to guide us in all our ways, it reminds me too that no one is lost, and no one is forgotten.
