There is much to do before Christmas, but a little art gets squeezed in there too.
I've been inspired by trace monotypes that I've seen other bloggers showcasing, and thought it might work for some sketches I have of the mosaics of Byzantine empresses: this is the Empress Theodora.
There's a Goldilock's critique with each one you finish: "This one's too light, this one's too dark, and this one....well it's still not quite right." Part of the allure of monotypes is the results are unpredictable. But there's plenty of room for experimentation--and honestly, I think I've been bitten by the monotype bug.
